The Embassy of Ghana in Rabat commemorated Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary with a reception held at the Chancery on 6th March, 2026. The event brought together members of the Ghanaian community, including students in Rabat, Casablanca and other provinces, as well as other invited guests.
As part of the programme, the Head of Mission, H.E. Mrs. Charity Gbedawo, delivered a statement on the chosen national theme of the celebration “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope”. In her remarks she highlighted several pragmatic policies championed by the Government of Ghana aimed at promoting economic transformation and ensuring that Ghanaians can confidently envision a brighter future in line with the Government’s reset agenda.
Her Excellency the Ambassador also apprised the Ghanaian community of the growing areas of cooperation between Ghana and Morocco over the past year and encouraged them to continue to remain law abiding, peace-loving, and serve as worthy ambassadors of Ghana in Morocco.
The celebration concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the anniversary cake by the Ambassador together with representatives of the Ghanaian community, including Members of Staff of the Embassy. Attendees were treated to a variety of Ghanaian delicacies and enjoyed lively traditional and contemporary Ghanaian music, showcasing Ghana’s rich cultural heritage. The event also featured cultural performances and recitals by the Ghanaian students, as well as a musical performance by Mr. Reuben Yemoh Odoi, a Ghanaian national resident in Morocco.
